Respect for Shopworkers' Week

It's Usdaw Union's Respect for Shopworker Week.

I took the opportunity to visit the Co-op store in Woodlesford, to hear directly from staff about their experiences with retail crime and antisocial behaviour.

Everyone deserves a safe workplace, but unfortunately far too many people who work in retail experience horrific physical and verbal abuse.

I am pleased that our Labour government has committed to ensuring that attacking a retail worker is a specific offence, as well as our plans to restore neighbourhood policing, to help keep everyone safe
