Terminally Ill Adults
(End of Life) Bill
Kim Leadbeater MP has introduced a Private Members Bill to change the law in this area.
The second reading of this bill will take place on the 29th November 2024, where there will be opportunity for Members of Parliament to debate the measures of the bill.
I know that this is an issue which invites strong and deeply held feelings on both sides of the debate.
I welcome the decision by the Government to allow its MPs a 'free vote' on this Bill - as a matter of conscience.
Before taking a position, I want to take time to listen to the views of my constituents on both sides of the debate.
I'm also waiting to see what provisions and safeguards will be included within the Bill before deciding how to vote at its second reading.
