The Future of Our NHS

I had the pleasure of hosting a really insightful consultation event in my office this afternoon, where I heard directly from constituents about the changes they want to see in our NHS as part of Labour’s upcoming 10-Year Health Plan.

These conversations are so important. Whether it’s the difficulty of getting a GP appointment, long waits for treatment, or the pressure on our incredible NHS staff — the challenges are real, and they’ve only grown after 14 years of Conservative mismanagement and decline.

But today’s event wasn’t just about highlighting what’s gone wrong — it was about looking forward. I heard powerful ideas and personal stories that will help shape a health service that works for everyone.

Now is the time to rebuild. Labour’s 10-Year Health Plan is our opportunity to create an NHS that’s fit for the future — one that’s properly staffed, properly funded, and focused on prevention as well as treatment.

That future starts with listening. And I’m so grateful to everyone who took the time to share their views today.
