50 new buses for Wakefield

Great to join Arriva Yorkshire in Wakefield today as they unveiled the first of their brand‑new, Yorkshire‑built buses -part of a £340m investment to modernise their UK fleet, with £15m of that spent right here at home

Wakefield is the first to benefit, with 50 new lower‑emission buses already entering service. It’s a real boost for passengers and a sign of the progress being made to improve public transport locally.

There’s still more to do before services are where our communities rightly expect them to be, but investment like this is a welcome step in the right direction
