Standing Up for Safe and Reliable School Transport

Many parents have contacted me and Cllr Natalie Walton (Labour, Wakefield East) with serious concerns about the reliability and overcrowding of school bus services to Outwood Grange Academy. We've met with school leadership to discuss concerns.

These issues have arisen following recent changes by Arriva, which saw several services merged — leaving students facing delays, overcrowded buses, and uncertainty on their daily journeys.

We’ve already written to Arriva to raise these concerns directly, but it’s clear that more action is needed to ensure that school transport is safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.
