See it, Hear it, Report it.

See it, Hear it, Report it

When you call the police, you expect them to show up, right? And when you report a crime, it should be taken seriously, no matter who you are or where you live. It's essential for the police to have the trust of the communities they serve. Victims need to believe that justice will be served and that criminals will face consequences. Prisons shouldn't be places where people learn to commit more crimes. These aren't unreasonable expectations; they're the foundation of a safe and secure society.

Unfortunately, many people have lost faith that reporting crimes will lead to any action, let alone an arrest.  This is not an accident, but the result of Conservative choices over the last 14 years. Community policing was downgraded, with neighbourhood officers pulled off the beat to plug shortages elsewhere.

That's why I'm starting a local campaign to encourage residents to report crime and antisocial behavior whenever they see it.

It's a classic case of "use it or lose it." If we don't report crimes and antisocial behavior, the official statistics will show a decrease in these incidents in our communities. We know that's not the reality, but the consequence will be fewer resources and less police presence in our area.
