I was completely appalled to learn that the River Calder is the second most polluted river in the UK, with the River Aire coming in third.
I'm determined to keep up the pressure on the Government on the appalling levels of pollution in the River Calder and Aire. I challenged the Secretary of State for the Department for the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) on this in Parliament.
More must to be done to tackle the scourge of sewage in our waterways to safeguard our natural environment.
